Yasuna just wants a hug. What she gets is a broken wrist, a sore chin, and a friend who can't stop herself. Sonya looks like any other girl in a school uniform, but her body has been trained to kill, and it reacts before her brain can catch up. A tap on the shoulder, a sudden movement, a friendly shove: anything can set off an instinct that turns an ordinary afternoon into a trip to the nurse's office. Yasuna keeps coming back anyway. Here's the strange part. Yasuna isn't some helpless target. She has spent time in ninja training of her own, and she still can't dodge half of what Sonya throws at her without thinking. So the two of them stumble through classes, lunch breaks, and whatever nonsense the day brings, one of them bruised and the other vaguely sorry about it. Usually. Somehow this is a comedy, and the jokes land harder than Sonya's elbows. But with a best friend whose reflexes treat every hug like an ambush, how long before Yasuna decides the friendship isn't worth the fractures?
