Kabukibu!

Kurogo Kurusu has been hooked on kabuki since he was a kid, dragged to performances by his grandfather until the singing, the stomping, the painted faces all burrowed into his brain. Now he is fifteen, a high schooler with one goal: start a kabuki club. Sounds simple. Write up a request, round up a few curious classmates, done. Then reality lands on him like a dropped stage curtain. Nobody his age wants anything to do with a four hundred year old art form. So he scrambles. He pitches, he begs, he hunts down anyone who will listen, trying to spark in them even a flicker of the fire he carries. Tradition does not bend easily for a teenager with a dream, and his small band of half convinced recruits has to learn the songs, the moves, the whole demanding package, all while their school looks on and shrugs. Can a handful of beginners really pull off a real kabuki performance?
