A new year starts at Ayanagi Academy, and the second years have one thing on their minds: the graduation show, Shadow and Lights. Everyone in the musical department has to take part. That is the rule. But only five of the twenty five students get a real training role, standing on stage with the graduating class. Grab one of those spots and your standing shoots up. You also land in the conversation for the Kao Council, the elite group everyone bows to. Here is the twist. Riku Ageha has been chasing the role of Alexis' Shadow since he was a kid, replaying one alumnus's performance in his head over and over, practicing until his body knew it better than his own name. He is the obvious pick. Then there is Yuuta Hoshitani, who barely knows how show business works, and that gap shows the second he steps into the audition room. The former Kao Council members, the ones they call the Ancients, step in to train them, and the whole year turns into a fight for five seats. So who actually takes the Shadow role when the curtain finally goes up?
