A freshman at Tanenashi High wants one thing: a club that asks almost nothing of him. Teachers keep pushing. He keeps dodging. Then he wanders into the magic clubroom and finds a cute upperclassman mid-trick, cards fanned between her fingers, practicing for an audience that is not there yet. Here is the catch. The moment anyone watches, her hands shake and the trick collapses. One spectator is enough to wreck her. She knocks props off the table, flubs the reveal, ends up red-faced in positions no magician would plan. He should walk out. Instead he signs the form and becomes her personal assistant, which means standing right next to every disaster, close enough to see her ears turn pink. He came for the easiest club on campus. He got a mentor who cannot perform, a routine that humiliates them both, and a strange pull toward a girl who fails spectacularly every single time. So why does he keep showing up to practice?
