Naru Sekiya is fourteen and convinced she is nobody special. Her childhood friends have it figured out: Yaya plays in a rock band, Tami sits on the student council, and Naru just reads fairy tales and wishes she had half their courage. Then one night, under a full moon, she spots a girl dancing on top of a torii gate. Obviously a fairy. Obviously a trick of the light. The fairy turns out to be a transfer student from America named Hana, who is very much human and very much obsessed with yosakoi, a loud, stamping festival dance she fell in love with as a kid. Hana wants to start a club. She wants Naru to join. Naru would rather disappear, because dancing means being watched, and being watched is the thing she fears most. So now she is caught between hiding behind her own shyness and chasing something that might finally pull her out of it. Hana pushes forward with a grin, the club needs members, and Naru's quiet little world is already starting to tilt. Can a girl who has never once stood out learn to dance like she owns the street?
