Kaoruko Moeta draws manga about high school girls. The problem is nobody wants to read it. Her art is flat, her storyboards go nowhere, and the reader rankings put her dead last. So she decides to quit. Her editor has a different plan and talks her into moving into a dorm known for housing manga artists. The place looks a little odd at first. Then Kaoruko meets the other residents. Tsubasa writes shounen. Ruki draws erotic manga that women actually buy. Koyume does shoujo and, like Kaoruko, is still waiting for her big break. They click fast, and Kaoruko starts to find ideas she never had before. The four of them even talk about making a manga together, about friendship and whatever else comes up. But wanting a debut and getting one are two different things. Will Kaoruko's name ever make it onto a serialized page?
