Episode 9 · Glass Maiden

Glass Maiden

Rags Town sits on the edge of Diver City, a dumping ground for people who came here to forget. Nobody asks about your past. That is the only rule that matters. Shu runs a tiny detective outfit there called S&A, working odd jobs with Akira and two girls, Manami and Ayaka. He used to be a real cop. A good one. He went after the people in power, lost everything, and washed up in this town. These days he acts like he does not care about much of anything. The emptiness is still there, under the surface. Then Manami picks up a case on a whim, and it drags them to a woman with no memory and a body running dangerously hot. Armed women are hunting her through the streets. They call her Sara. Around the same time, teenage girls all over town start burning from the inside and hardening into glass. The government wants it buried. A reporter will not let it go. Neither will the local cops. Shu starts pulling at the thread, and what comes loose points straight back at Diver City itself, and maybe at the life he thought he had already thrown away. Can he and his crew hold on to the few things they still care about? And what happens to the city when the truth finally comes out?
