Ritsuka Uenoyama used to love basketball and his guitar. Then one day both just stopped meaning anything. He starts skipping practice, dodging band rehearsals, and looking for spots where nobody will bother him. That's how he ends up on a gym staircase, staring at some quiet kid who is clutching a Gibson with rusted, snapped strings. The kid is Mafuyu Satou, and he will not let go. First he wants the guitar fixed. Then he wants lessons. Ritsuka agrees mostly to make him stop asking. He drags Mafuyu to a jam session with his bandmates, a bassist and a drummer, and that's when Mafuyu opens his mouth to sing. The voice stops everyone cold. Ritsuka decides on the spot that this guy has to be their frontman. There is a catch. Mafuyu barely speaks about where the guitar came from or who taught him to hold it, and something painful sits behind all that silence. He has to learn the instrument, learn the band, and face whatever put that Gibson in his hands in the first place. What exactly happened to the person who owned it before him?
