Nozomi Onda is fourteen and soccer is the only thing in her head. Not school, not friends. The ball, the grass, the perfect pass. There is just one wall in her way: every official match would put her up against boys, bigger and faster, and she knows how that ends. Then a boy from her past stops her right there on the street. Whatever he says, it lands hard. Something in her snaps. Waiting is over. Now she has to find a team, a coach, anyone who will let a girl onto the pitch, and prove that beautiful soccer has nothing to do with size. The boys will not make it easy. Neither will the people telling her to quit. So what happens when the one person who doubts her most turns out to be the one she has to beat?
