Keitarou Gentouga can't walk down a street without something dead noticing him. Spirits have always been drawn to the kid, and two years ago that pull nearly got him and a friend killed. One cursed right hand later, he wears a glove around the clock and barely leaves his room. Then his childhood friend Eiko drags him back into the world with a simple gig: tutor a bright student, talk to humans again, act normal. The student is Yayoi Houzuki. Eiko's cousin. And she has two pupils in each eye, which lets her stare straight into the spirit world. She isn't afraid of ghosts. She's hunting them. Ever since a car crash killed her parents, Yayoi has been chasing the thing that took her mother's soul, and she needs bait. Keitarou, a walking beacon for the restless dead, is exactly what she's been looking for. So instead of worksheets, the three of them start visiting places nobody sane would spend the night. Keitarou agrees to help. He also flinches at every door they open, every voice that answers back. How many vengeful spirits does Yayoi plan to collect before one of them finally collects him?
