At twenty eight, Sumireko Ogawa is stuck. Once the kid everyone called a prodigy, she now stacks books in a shop, dodges hostile editors, and stares at a novel that will not move. Then she reads a poem out of a book that should not exist, and her body snaps back to childhood. Her first thought is not fear. It is relief, because the words finally come again. Her coworker Ren Adashino ruins it. He claims to be her biggest fan, yet he knows far too much about things that should stay buried, and he says the change is killing her. Other verses. That is the only way back. So she agrees, grudgingly, and gets pulled into his paranormal cases alongside his sister Oto, chasing incidents other people write off as accidents, illness, or lies. Sumireko refuses to look away. She wants to turn all of it into a book. Ren wants something, and he is not saying what, and he is far too bold to be any ordinary admirer. What is he really after, and how much will she lose before she finds out?
