Kanae's father blew through the family money and vanished, leaving her with a mansion she can't afford and a pile of debts. The bank wants the place gone. So she has to kick out everyone still living there, which includes her friend Sousuke and two guys who claim they knew her dad. Their names are Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven. Somehow they're alive again, they answer to Motes and Beethes, and neither one seems interested in writing music anymore. Mostly they just goof off around the house. Then Beethes refuses to move, digs in his heels, and accidentally wakes up something called Musik. The mansion survives the wrecking ball. Word gets around fast, and soon other composers start showing up at the door: Chopin, Liszt, Schubert. Not everyone who has this power is friendly, though. Across town, high up on a rooftop, Johann Sebastian Bach is watching and making his own plans. So Kanae wanted a quiet house with fewer weirdos in it. She got the opposite. Now that half the city's composers want what's inside Otowakan, who exactly is she supposed to throw out first?
