The greatest strategist of third-century China spent his whole life outsmarting rivals on the battlefield. By the end, all those schemes and sieges had worn him down completely. So on his deathbed Zhuge Kongming asked for one thing: let his next life be quiet, somewhere without war. Wish granted. He opens his eyes in modern Tokyo, young again, memories intact, and wanders straight into a nightclub. There he meets Eiko, a singer chasing a dream far bigger than the tiny stage she is standing on. Kongming listens, and something clicks. He has no idea how this world works, so Eiko teaches him: phones, trains, pop charts. In return he appoints himself her manager and starts running her career like a military campaign, dusting off the same tricks he used to outmaneuver entire armies. The music business does not forgive mistakes, and it has plenty of rivals who fight dirty. Can a man who once commanded thousands bend a stubborn industry to his will before Eiko burns out?
