A future without wars or aliens. Robots just fold the laundry and ride the train to work alongside everyone else. The smallest ones are called Shinki: six inch tall companions with voices, tempers and a fierce loyalty to the person they call Master. Three of them, Ann, Aines and Lene, share a room in the home of a high school kid named Masato. They bicker over chores, they pose for photos, they keep the place running while he is at school. Ordinary days, the kind you could watch forever. Then a fourth one arrives. Strarf. Built for combat, named Hina by her Master, and she does not do quiet mornings or gentle manners. The apartment suddenly has a soldier in it. She snaps at the others, refuses to soften, and treats every little thing like a standoff. Masato wanted a partner. What he got was a war waiting to happen on his kitchen table. Armor comes out of the box, weapons get charged, and the girls who used to argue over whose turn it is to dust now have to figure out how to fight beside someone who barely tolerates them. Can three peace loving Shinki and one born for battle ever learn to live under the same roof?
