Rygart Arrow can't do the one thing everyone else on the continent of Cruzon takes for granted. Quartz does nothing in his hands. No lights, no machines, no magic. He grew up as the "un-sorcerer," and somehow that never cost him his friends: Hodr and Sigyn, who now sit on the throne of Krisna, and Zess, brother to Athens's Secretary of War. Then he visits the capital and everything flips. An old Golem sits there, useless to every quartz wielder alive, and it wakes up for him. Just him. The one man in the country who can't cast a spell is the only one who can pilot the thing. Zess is already leading Athenian strikes on Binonten. Rygart climbs into the cockpit, not to win glory but to stop his own friend, and the two nations are no longer the only thing splitting apart. Can a man with no power at all hold a war back with the one weapon nobody else can even touch?
