Twelve thousand years have passed since the first Aquarion, and humanity now huddles on the star Vega, forever bracing for the next raid. The Abductors come tearing out of another dimension, snatching people and leaving wreckage behind, and the only thing standing in their way is Neo-DEAVA. Their rule is simple and absolute: boys and girls never mix. Not in the barracks, not in the cockpit, not on the same battlefield. Then an enemy mecha unlike anything they have faced drops into the fight, and two teenagers get dragged straight into the middle of it. Amata is a kid who has spent his whole life apologizing for being different, a boy who quietly decided he was useless years ago. So when he calls up an Aquaria, something no one expects, the machine answers. And then Mikono touches it too. What happens next is the thing Neo-DEAVA has spent generations making sure could never happen: a boy and a girl inside one Aquaria, joined in what they call the Forbidden Union. Command is stunned. The rules just broke in front of everyone, and the fallout will reach much further than Amata can guess. He never trained for this. Nobody taught him the words. So how did a boy who thought he was worthless summon a mecha at all, and why did it respond to Mikono as well?
