Europe is getting carved up. Britannia's war machine keeps rolling, and the Union's answer is a dirty little unit called W-0: kids pulled straight out of the ghettos, given Knightmare frames, and told to die somewhere useful. They're Elevens. Nobody expects them to come back. Their commander Leila Malcal has her own reasons for taking them on, and those reasons aren't pretty either. The setup is simple. A European division gets trapped in Narva trying to take back Saint Petersburg. W-0 gets sent in to pull them out. Odds of success? Basically nothing. Then the rescue flips. The officer in charge would rather blow his own machine sky high than let Britannia have it, and he takes the whole operation down with him. Akito Hyuuga walks out of the wreckage. Just him. They call him Hannibal's Ghost, and it turns out the name is earned. He was always the unit's real weapon, something sharper and stranger than anyone lets on. Now the survivors have to figure out what they actually signed up for. So what happens to a squad of disposable soldiers when the one man among them who can't be killed is also the one they understand least?
