Blue Sonnet
Sonnet was built to be a weapon. Taken from a brutal childhood, wired with cybernetics and psychic power, she gets shipped off to Japan with one job: keep an eye on a quiet schoolgirl named Komatsuzaki Lan. Easy enough. Except Lan isn't just shy. She knows something inside her is wrong, and she's been hiding it from everyone. Then the two of them meet, and Lan's hidden thing wakes up. They call it Crimson Fang, a rage that doesn't ask permission, and now it's clawing its way out. Sonnet was supposed to watch her. Instead she's fighting her, and every punch thrown drags up memories Sonnet thought the lab scrubbed out of her. The weapon starts feeling like a person again. The girl starts slipping. Both of them are losing ground. One is learning to be human, the other is trying not to stop being one. So who actually walks away from this: the machine, or the girl?
