A brilliant robotics professor builds a son he never had. Jiro looks human, talks human, but under the skin sits metal and wiring. One switch flips him into Kikaider, a fighting machine built for one job: keep the professor's real children, Masaru and Mitsuko, alive. Then the old man vanishes, and the kids are left with nothing but a robot who insists he can feel. That is the strange part. Dr. Komyoji gave Jiro a conscience circuit, and now Jiro wrestles with right and wrong like it actually costs him something. He was not supposed to. Out of the shadows comes Dr. Gill, who wants Jiro on his side and won't take no for an answer. His androids hunt the two children across the city, and every fight pulls Jiro closer to a choice he was never built to make. Can a machine that only mimics a heart really decide who deserves to be saved?
