Aki no Kanade

Slice of Life2015J.C.StaffRating 6,913+HD

Aki fell for the taiko drums as a kid, back home, the first time she heard that deep boom roll through her chest. Now she lives in Tokyo and plays them for a living. Sort of. Between practice and a second job that pays the rent, the thing she loves starts feeling like something she just has to get through. Then her phone rings. It's Michio Yoshioka, the teacher who first put sticks in her hands, asking her to come back. Fifteen years after she left, Aki returns to her hometown to get a new generation ready for the taiko festival. Standing in that same practice room, she starts replaying every choice that brought her here, and the fire she thought had gone out flickers back to life. But can a person really pick up a dream she already walked away from once?
