Episode 7 · Active Raid

Active Raid

Tokyo is a flooded, half rebuilt mess, and the criminals have better gear than the cops. Anyone with a Willwear suit can punch through a wall or drop a whole block, so the city keeps a special squad on standby: Unit Eight. The public mostly knows them as the lunatics who wreck buildings and ignore every rule in the manual. Then a nineteen year old inspector's assistant named Asami Kazari gets quietly planted inside. Her orders are simple. Watch them, report back, and drag this circus into something resembling a proper police unit. She walks in expecting lazy idiots and finds instead a crew that actually knows what they are doing, just never the way anyone told them to. Also, she has her own reason for wanting them fixed. Now she has to file reports on people she is starting to respect, while they go after criminals whose suits keep getting stranger. Regulations pull one way, results pull the other, and the brass upstairs is listening to every word she says. So which side is she really working for?
