Giant armored bugs drove humanity off the ground years ago. Now people live in floating cities, and the only thing standing between them and the swarm are the wizards trained at academies in the sky. Kanata Age used to be one of the best, the Black Master Swordsman of special corps S128. These days nobody calls him that. They call him a traitor. Then he gets handed E601, a squad with ten straight losses and three girls who each come with their own brand of trouble: Misora, Lecty, and Rico. What was supposed to be his shot at clearing his name turns into babysitting a unit that seems determined to drag him down with it. Can a man everyone has already written off turn the worst squad in the academy into something that flies?
