Two blocs stare each other down across a divided map. West against East. The cold war never ended, it just kept grinding on for 140 years, and the only real weapons left are the spies. Mylene Hoffman works for the West, a beautiful cyborg with the codename 009-1, assigned to a unit of lovely and lethal girls who were built for this. Then the polite fiction starts to crack. Peace talks fade into the background while both sides race for the same technology, and somebody keeps whispering about nukes. Mylene teams up with three other agents, and every mission her superiors hand her drags the four of them deeper into deception, chaos and rivalry, East bloc schemers always one step ahead or one step behind. Can a spy who was assembled rather than born ever know which side she is really working for?
