Michiru Kita can look at your neck and tell you how long you have left. Every person wears a ring there, pale for the distant ones, ink black for the ones standing at the edge. So when she spots two boys from her class, Chika and Shito, walking around with rings black as coal, she does what any decent person would do. She tries to warn them. That is when she finds out the boys died a while ago already. Dead, but not gone. A loan office called Zombie-Loan keeps them breathing, and the payments are not money. They hunt zombies. Every kill chips away at a debt that never seems to shrink, and they have been at it long enough to stop asking what happens if they miss a payment. Then they catch Michiru staring at their necks and realize what she can see. Now she is in it with them, using those eyes to track down the things they are paid to put down. Two dead boys, one girl who can spot the walking dead in a crowd, and a contract with terms nobody has read to the end. What exactly does Zombie-Loan do when a borrower falls behind?
