In 2119, the ship Green Sleeves found three worlds already chewed up by X23, a rogue planet crawling toward Earth. The government wanted it blown out of the sky. Captain Sugita said no. He thought humans and whatever lived on X23 could share the same space. Then the radio went dead. Two years later, strangers show up for his son Susumu and drag him to Dr. Miya, one of the few people who still defends the captain while everyone else spits the word traitor. Miya has a plan: join White Pegasus, a medical rescue crew with a machine that shrinks a person down small enough to walk around inside a human body and fix what's broken. Right on cue, X23 fills the sky. The aliens, called Hues, pick Susumu's friend as their first victim, and the team drops into his bloodstream to fight them from within. What Susumu finds in there isn't a weapon. It's a melody. Music he and his mother once wrote as a gift for his father, humming out of the chips inside the enemy. So who sent it, and why is his own family's song beating inside the thing that came to kill them?
