Yuki Sanada has a problem: when he gets nervous, his face locks into something that scares people, so everyone at school thinks he is furious when he is actually terrified. He and his grandma keep moving, and now they have landed on Enoshima, a small seaside island where he hopes to finally go unnoticed. That plan dies on day one. A transfer student named Haru bursts into his life, announces he is an alien, and informs Yuki that they are friends now and also that they have to save the world. Yuki did not agree to any of this. The world-saving turns out to involve fishing, which is how Natsuki Usami gets dragged in, the local ace everyone calls the Fishing Prince. There is also a mysterious Indian man named Akira who keeps appearing with his duck, Tapioca, and who seems to know more than he is saying. Something is waiting out there in the ocean. Haru will not explain what, Yuki cannot relax long enough to cast properly, and Natsuki mostly seems annoyed to be involved at all. Somehow these three have to learn to trust each other, and maybe that is the part that actually matters. But what exactly is coming out of the water, and why does Haru already seem to know?
