Shun, Yuuta, Yuuki, and Kaname have known each other since they were kids, and by their second year at Homare High they still drift through the same hallways together. It looks like a friendship that never needed a name. Never needed to be figured out. Then Chizuru Tachibana, a half-Japanese transfer student with more energy than common sense, plants himself in the middle of the group and starts pitching ideas nobody asked for. Somehow the quiet days stop being quiet. There is a class president who keeps everyone in line, a boy who could pass for a girl until he opens his mouth, a twin who sleeps through anything, and now a new kid dragging them into one mess after another. They laugh. They argue. They learn scraps of things about each other they had never bothered to ask. But if these four were never really friends in the first place, just faces who happened to grow up side by side, what happens when someone finally forces the question?
