Tonbo!
Kazuyoshi Igarashi takes a job at a development center on Hinoshima Island, hoping the quiet and the distance will help him leave his old life behind. He steps off expecting empty fields and not much else. Then he sees it: a full golf course, carved right into the coastline by the people who live there. They built the whole thing themselves, and they play it for fun. That is strange enough. Then he meets Tonbo Ooi. She is a kid, and the only club she carries is a 3-iron, the kind of club most pros dread. She swings it anyway, and the ball does things that should not be possible. Kazuyoshi used to play this game for a living. Now he stands on a cliff and watches a girl make shots he cannot explain, and something in him starts to shift. He came here to quit. So why does every swing she takes pull him back toward the thing he ran from?
