Tonbo Ooi spent her whole childhood swinging a club on a tiny island with hardly anyone around. Then middle school ends, and she gets on a boat. Kumamoto, a real golf course, actual competition. Her mentor Igarashi pulls strings to get coach Udou to take her on, and right away things get awkward. Her swing is strange, her bag of clubs confuses her, and nobody quite knows what to make of the kid from Tokara. Then she plays. Udou watches, and his doubts start to crack. What she does with a golf ball does not look like anything the textbooks teach, and it works. Word spreads fast enough to land her a spot at the Kyushu Women's Championship, where the field is stacked with players she knows and players who have never heard of her. Now she is standing on a bigger stage than she has ever seen, up against rivals who will not go easy. Can a girl who learned the game alone on an island hold her own against the best in Kyushu?
