Mirai is a middle schooler fed up with her family, and one hot afternoon she thinks something she probably shouldn't: she wishes it would all just fall apart. Then the ground opens up. She's in Odaiba with her little brother Yuuki at a robot expo he begged her to take him to, and in seconds the Tokyo Tower and the Rainbow Bridge are gone, the city twisted into something unrecognizable. She got her wish. That's the horrible part. Out of the dust comes Mari, a biker and single mom who grabs both kids and refuses to leave them behind. Now the three of them are walking home through a city that no longer has streets, with aftershocks rolling under their feet and no way to know if anyone they love is still alive. It's a long walk. Food runs out. People aren't always kind. Can two kids and a stranger make it across a broken Tokyo before the city finishes collapsing around them?
