After the nuclear winter, humans aren't the ones running the show anymore. Mutated creatures roam the wilds, resources are almost gone, and every day outside the walls is a gamble. Most people hide behind fortifications. Others, like Ren Xiaosu and his little brother Yan Liuyuan, choose the open land instead, hunting to stay alive. The two aren't related by blood, just by a stubborn refusal to die. Then something strange happens: the brothers awaken powers. No training, no warning. Just willpower sharp enough to crack something open. But power doesn't fill empty stomachs, and it doesn't keep the wolves away. To protect what's left of his family, Ren Xiaosu leaves his town for Jingshan Mountain. The road there is not kind. Wolves hunt in packs. Insects with human faces wait in the dark. Other mutated things are worse. He has to get through all of it, and he has no idea what's waiting at the end. Can he even make it off that mountain alive?
