Piccolo is up on a bare cliff, grinding through another day of training, when a bunch of strangers jump him and leave him face down in the dirt. No warning, no explanation. Then those same guys head straight for Mount Paozu and the four-star ball Gohan keeps as a keepsake. Chi-Chi and Gyumao try to stop them and get swatted aside. They take the kid too. Goku comes home to find his wife on the ground and his son gone. He grabs the Dragon Radar from Kame House and takes off, chasing the balls and the men who stole them. What he doesn't know yet is who he's really chasing: the son of Kami's oldest enemy, settling a score from years back, and he needs both Gohan and the Dragon Balls to take Kami's place as Guardian of Earth. So a father runs after his son, a demon runs after a throne, and somewhere in the middle sits an old god who already knows exactly what is coming for him. Who gets to Gohan first?
