The Case Study of Vanitas
A vampire born under a blue moon, hated by his own kind, feared for something he never chose. That is the first Vanitas. He vanished into legend, leaving behind a grimoire that could wipe out every crimson moon vampire in one stroke, and a name people still whisper with hate. Generations later, a young vampire named Noé boards an airship in search of that book. What he finds is a human doctor who borrowed the name, inherited the tome, and treats cursed vampires like a common cold. Then the attacks start. Someone is twisting vampires into frenzied monsters, and the doctor's book is the only thing that can pull them back by recovering the true name each victim lost. Noé watches this man laugh while he works, never once explaining why a human would bother saving the creatures the original Vanitas swore to destroy. Kindness, or a much longer game? And what happens when the real story of that blue moon night finally catches up with the name he stole?
