Super Dimension Fortress Macross
A spaceship falls out of the sky and slams into an island in the South Pacific. That wreck is humanity's first proof it isn't alone. Ten years later the thing has been rebuilt into the SDF-1 Macross, and on the day it finally flies, alien ships drop out of orbit. The Macross fires on its own and starts a war with the Zentradi. Then the ship jumps, dragging a whole city along with it, and everybody on board wakes up somewhere far from home with no way back. Hikaru Ichijou is a stunt pilot who gets swept into the fighting. Minmay Lynn just wants to sing. A pop song and a dogfight shouldn't have anything to do with each other, and yet out here in the dark they somehow do, because the Zentradi have never heard music before and can't figure out what it's doing to them. So what happens when a war that's been running for centuries runs straight into a teenage girl with a microphone?
