Bugs hit Fort Casey hard. The outpost is on the edge of Federation space, and the fast attack ship Alesia gets the call to help the John A. Warden pull survivors out and carry military intelligence home. Straightforward enough, until the Warden never shows up where it is supposed to. Carl Jenkins runs the Ministry of Paranormal Warfare now. He took that starship somewhere off the books before the rendezvous, and somewhere out in the nebula he vanished. No distress call, no wreckage, nothing. So the troopers suit up for a rescue mission, and the further they push into that cloud, the less it feels like a rescue and the more it feels like a trap. What exactly was Jenkins doing out there, and what is waiting for them on the other side of the fog?
