Samurai Champloo
Fuu is just trying to get through a shift at the teahouse when she trips and dumps a drink down some samurai's back. The guy and his friends don't take it well. She yells for help, and Mugen answers: a former pirate with a blade slung across his back, fighting like he's dancing, all wild kicks and spins. Then Jin, a proper ronin with a katana and a wakizashi, decides he wants a piece of Mugen too. The two of them tear the whole place apart before anyone can blink. Somewhere in the chaos, the magistrate's son ends up dead. Guards drag both swordsmen off to be executed, lungs full of smoke from the fire they started. Fuu pulls them out at the last second, and her price is simple: be her bodyguards. She's looking for a samurai who smells like sunflowers. Neither man can stand the other, and neither has anywhere better to go, so they say yes. Now the three of them walk the roads of an Edo Japan that never quite existed, hip hop thumping behind every swordfight. Mugen and Jin would happily settle things with steel tomorrow. So how long can Fuu keep them from killing each other before they find the man she's after?
