Souta Mizushino just wants to write his own light novel. One night he's watching anime for inspiration, gets yanked into a sword fight for a few seconds, and lands back in his room. Except the heroine came with him. Selesia Yupitilia, headstrong and very confused, is now standing in his apartment. Then the streets of Japan start filling up with strangers: a princely knight, a magical girl, a brawler with a grudge, all carrying the scars of their home worlds. And somewhere among them walks a woman in military regalia. Nobody knows her real name or where she came from, but she knows way too much about the creators' side of things. A librarian NPC named Meteora joins Souta and Selesia, and together they try to figure out why fictional characters keep crossing over. Some of them want answers from the people who wrote them. Some want payback. The line between reality and imagination is thinning fast. So who gets to decide what happens when the characters finally meet the gods who made them?
