Thirty years ago people started catching fire. Not dying in fires. Becoming them. The Burnish, they called them, and half the planet burned before anyone figured out how to fight back. Now the free city of Promepolis glows like a jewel, all thanks to Kray Foresight, the leader who saved it. Galo Thymos owes that man his life and never shuts up about it. Fresh off the truck, he is the loudest rookie on the Burning Rescue squad, a crew that rolls out in mech suits built by their mechanic Lucia to put out the walking torches before anyone else gets hurt. Then the Mad Burnish start torching the city on purpose, and their leader Lio Fotia walks straight into Galo's first real call. Something about the guy does not add up. Something about the whole setup does not add up. Galo came to fight monsters. Now he is standing in the ashes, wondering who he has actually been working for this whole time. Same writer and director behind Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill, so expect the volume knob ripped clean off. The rescue gear, the fire, the politics, none of it sits still for a second. And if the monsters were never monsters, what exactly has Galo been putting out all this time?
