Yuuki Hase finally works up the nerve to talk to the girl he likes. Kaori Fujimiya shuts him down flat, the same way she shuts down everyone. So he does something stubborn instead: every lunch break, he climbs up to the roof where she eats alone and sits with her. She starts to soften. Then, right when the week is about to end, she pushes him away again. The reason is stranger than he expected. An accident back in middle school left Kaori with a memory that wipes itself clean every Monday, taking with it everyone she has gotten close to. Her family stays. Friends vanish. So she keeps her distance, because getting close to someone means losing them seven days later. Yuuki refuses to walk away. Every Monday he asks her the same question: will you be my friend? Can he keep making her fall for him over and over, or is he signing up for the same goodbye every single week?
