Miharu Rokujo just wants to be left alone. He's fourteen, flat voiced, and very good at pretending he isn't paying attention while quietly getting his way. Then ninja start dropping out of the trees. Turns out the kid carries Shinrabansho, a technique every clan in Nabari would kill for, because whoever masters it rules the whole hidden world. His classmate Koichi and his English teacher Thobari have been guarding him this whole time, and they'd like him to join their little club. He says no. He keeps saying no, even after the knives come out and the rooftops stop being safe. That's when survival stops being a choice and starts being a membership card. Now a blonde samurai named Raimei has thrown in with them, the attacks are coming faster, and every fight drags Miharu a step deeper into a world he never asked to see. He still acts like none of it matters. So why does he keep going?
