A baby is born in a run-down village in the Parthevia Empire, and somewhere far away, powerful sorcerers feel a ripple move through the rukh. That baby is Sinbad. His father, a former soldier worn down by war, and his gentle mother Esra raise him in Tison Village, where money is scarce and the aftermath of battle hangs over everything. Life is hard. Sinbad is happy anyway. Then a stranger comes to town, and the world he knows falls apart. Years pass, and Sinbad is fourteen, charming, talented, restless. All over the world, strange towers called dungeons have appeared, stuffed with treasure and power, and nobody who walks into one ever walks back out. Sinbad wants to see what lies beyond his village, and a wandering traveler named Yunan points him toward a dungeon that supposedly holds the power of a king. So a boy with nothing but nerve and a father's words in his head sets out to gather allies, sharpen his skills, and claw his way toward becoming the High King of the Seven Seas. But what does a king actually have to sacrifice along the way?
