A singer shows up on a colony ship to do what she does best, and for one night the whole fleet forgets it is drifting through empty space. Sheryl Nome is famous far beyond her own vessel, and her concert on the Frontier should be a simple stop on a tour. It is not. The brass starts whispering behind closed doors, and before long the star everyone came to cheer for is being called a spy for another ship. Up in the sky, the Vajra show up, insectoids nobody on board has fought before, and the old grudges between humans and Zentradi have to be buried fast because there is no one else to fly beside you. Down on the deck, Alto keeps reaching for the sky while Ranka chases a microphone, two kids with big plans and no idea what is coming for them. Sheryl stays. She should not, but she does. What happens when the person the fleet is told to fear is the only one still singing?
