Christmas Eve, and Ryouka Tsurumi wakes up in her own bedroom. Then the day starts to rot. Her mother says the mansion has been evacuated and the whole area sealed off, all because of something called X. The only other soul still inside is Shuuhei, the childhood friend she has not seen in years. Oh, and X does not just hunt. It gets inside people's heads, turns them into hands that drag you toward its mouth, because it needs blood to make more of itself. Shuuhei pulls her out of one attack, and the two of them run. They do not make it far. Hypnotized neighbors grab them, and something enormous swallows them whole. That should be the end. It is not. Ryouka opens her eyes in her room again. Christmas Eve, same sheets, same cold light, except this time X is different, and it is already closer. She is looping, and every version of the day wants her dead. So she stops running blind and starts working with Shuuhei, the only person who seems real in a house that keeps resetting. Can two teenagers outthink a thing that learns from every death they die?
