Kobato Hanato wants one thing: to get to a certain place, and she will do whatever it takes. So she lands on Earth with a mission. Mend broken hearts, collect the little candy-like shards that pop out of each one, drop them in a bottle. Fill it up and her wish comes true. Simple enough. Except she knows nothing about people or how they live. Everything she knows about this world comes from manga. Her guide is Ioryogi, a stuffed blue dog with a foul mouth and way more power than any plush toy should have. The work itself turns out to be the easy part. A boy whose parents are fighting. A high school girl tangled up over a crush. Kobato walks in with that smile and somehow things get lighter. She is good at this, better than anyone expected, because the kindness is real. What she is not ready for is the rule attached to the job. She is not allowed to fall for the people she helps. Not once.
