A clumsy girl named Ahiru trips over her own feet, feeds the ducks in the pond, and never once looks like the hero of anything. Talking cats wander her town. So do crocodiles. Nobody blinks. Then a strange man called Drosselmeyer turns her into a human girl, and she finds out what she actually is: a duck. That is the part that should bother her more than it does. Because the egg-shaped pendant around her neck does something wild. It turns her into Princess Tutu, a ballet dancer so graceful that her steps pull the sadness right out of people's chests. And that gift comes with a job. A prince shattered his own heart long ago to lock an evil raven away, and the pieces are scattered everywhere. She has to gather them. One by one. Every shard she returns to him costs her something she never says out loud. The heroes in this story are fighting fate itself, and their beliefs, their feelings, and what they choose to do will decide whether this fairy tale gets its happy ending. But can a duck who loves a prince ever be anything more than the one who puts his heart back together for someone else?
