Kotoko Aihara has spent three years of high school staring at the back of Naoki Irie's head. He's the smartest kid in school, maybe in all of Japan. She's the one who trips over her own feet. She even wrote him a love letter once. He never said yes. Then an earthquake flattens her house. Just like that, Kotoko and her dad move in with the Iries. Same roof. Same dinner table. Same bathroom schedule. Naoki's mother is thrilled. Naoki is not. He treats her like a stain on the floor, and he has a genius-level talent for making her feel small in front of everyone. She still thinks this is her chance. His mom keeps pushing them together, her friends keep cheering her on, and every day she gets another shot at the boy who has ignored her for years. Living under the same roof is one thing. Getting him to actually look at her is another. Can a girl who fails every test finally pass the only one that matters?
