Heroic Age
The Gold Tribe threw open the door to the stars and three races walked through: Bronze, Silver, Heroic. Then humanity showed up late, uninvited, riding nothing but its own stubborn inventions. The Golds shrugged and called them Iron. Not long after, the Golds left for another universe entirely, and the tribes they left behind turned on the newcomers. Now Earth's children are down to scraps, hiding in the dark while the bigger kids pick them apart. Princess Deianeira digs through old Gold prophecy for a weapon, a savior, anything. What she finds is a boy with wild hair on a dead planet, and he does not look like salvation. He looks like he has never spoken to another person in his life. The boy is tied to something ancient and enormous, something the other tribes would burn worlds to control. Deianeira has to keep him alive, keep him pointed at the right enemy, and keep her own people from panicking long enough to matter. But a kid raised by nobody, with power even he does not understand: whose hand is really on the trigger?
