Sixty years ago, workers building the Kurobe Dam dug up two artifacts nobody could explain. So the UN built a research center right on top of them, and scientists from everywhere moved in with their kids. Yukina Shirahane is one of those kids. Quiet girl, normal school life at Mt. Tate International, daughter of the man running the whole place. Then she visits her mother at the lab and casually cracks part of the artifact's puzzle. A young samurai from the Sengoku era steps out. His name is Kennosuke, and he is not happy to be here. He also brought something with him: a giant robot called Kuromukuro. Now something is coming down from the sky, and Yukina is standing in the middle of it with a 400 year old warrior who keeps glaring at her like she personally ruined his life. He fights. He protects her, though he won't say why. What exactly did Yukina wake up in that lab, and why does this samurai act like her name means something to him?
