Episode 7 · Hataraki Man

Hataraki Man

Hiroko Matsukata writes for a weekly magazine with a circulation of 600,000, and she does not coast on that number. She throws everything into a story, and when deadline pressure hits, something flips: she becomes Hataraki Man, a working machine who does not stop until the pages are closed. Her coworkers know the switch well by now. Then she meets a guy. A real one. Suddenly Hiroko, the woman who would drop everything for a date, is the one waiting by the phone, because her boyfriend works even harder than she does. Two workaholics, one calendar, zero free evenings. Her job does not care about any of this. The magazine keeps printing, the deadlines keep coming, and every time she chooses, someone loses. Can a person who turns into a machine at the office ever turn back into a woman at home?
