She left a farm for Tokyo, and the city has been taking her money ever since. Ekoda-chan is 24, always broke, and fine with it. Back home, the girls her age are posting wedding photos and baby bumps. Her love life keeps knocking on the wrong doors. So she waits tables at night, works a hostess gig when rent looms, and treats a pretty face as a tool of the trade. Then there is the nudity. She pads around her apartment with nothing on. Cheaper that way. Faster. Guests get remembered by where they sat next to her, not by name, which tells you plenty about the guests. Lizards wander in. Men wander in. She argues with both, laughs at herself, and falls asleep chewing over a day that somehow packed in a hundred small disasters. Every episode hands the reins to a different director, so the art and the attitude change on you without warning. Same girl, same mess, new eyes each time. Will she ever stop being broke, or has she already figured out something the married girls back home have not?
